Portland Christian Junior/Senior High School has improved their old natural grass football/soccer field with new artificial turf.  Duke Construction and Excavation excavated for the new turf field which entails excavating the existing field to a new subgrade, placing and compacting 3/4″-0 gravel then placing and fine grading 1/4″-0.  The 1/4″-0 gravel has to be placed perfectly with no deflections and no inconsistency in grades or elevations.  Duke performed the placing and grading of both 3/4″-0 and 1/4″-0 gravel with GPS and machine control excavators and graders.  When we were complete with our scope of work the turf installers were amazed how perfect the grades where.
